Medical packaging may help lower infant mortality rates

A study shows that caregivers were more willing to give key medicines if they were packaged better.

Researchers say better medical packaging of key medicines in developing companies could help improve infant mortality rates, reported ZeeNews India.

The better packaging, according to the study by the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the University of Warwick found a direct correlation between the willingness of the caregiver to give key medicines such as Oral Rehydration Salts.

"Caregivers indicated that current packaging designs had inappropriately large sachets, lacked clear usage detail and were visually unappealing," according to the news report.
