Bosch Rexroth has released a major update to its advancing factory automation kit, one of six educational kits in its resource kit series.
Drawing on the company’s experience in factory automation applications across multiple industry segments, the kit features new case studies, technical papers, and links to recently updated YouTube videos and product literature. The kit provides content targeted at machine builders, system integrators, and manufacturers involved in developing and using automated production systems.
A special publication is now included with the new version of the digital kit: A Machine Tool Application Excerpt, drawn from a safety engineering guidebook created by Bosch Rexroth. “10 Steps to Performance Level: Handbook for the Implementation of Functional Safety According to ISO 13849,” is a guide of 250-plus pages that provides automation engineers with a detailed, 10-step process for implementing Rexroth Safety on Board technology, according to the standards and directives associated with the International Standards Organization (ISO) 13849 safety directive.
The Machine Tool Application Excerpt provides an overview of the design of safety-related control systems for machine tools and a preview of the contents of the complete handbook.
Packaged on a USB drive, the kit combines documents and resources loaded on the drive with links to useful technical information and planning tools on the Bosch Rexroth Website. The kit’s materials are drawn from Bosch Rexroth’s library of customer application case studies, expert technical papers, current product brochures, links to state-of-the-art engineering and design tools, and the company’s latest videos carefully selected and combined into one convenient digital package.
