Cotton insertion machines in the Pharmafill(TM) line from packaging machinery manufacturer Deitz Co., Wall, NJ (www.Deitzco.com), feature a proprietary pinch roller assembly that automatically separates cotton from a continuous roll into individual pieces without using blades of any kind. Devised to safeguard packaging line workers, the novel pinch roller system uses dual pinch roller pairs that gently tear both natural and synthetic cotton from the coil into preset pieces of uniform size at speeds up to 180 pieces per minute. Risk of injury due to blade sharpening and associated line downtime are eliminated, along with quality control issues due to dulling blades.

Ideal for pharmaceutical and nutritional product manufacturers, and contract packaging companies, the pinch roller assembly is included as standard on the company's line of Pharmafill cotton inserters. The Pharmafill cottoners automatically shape the cotton piece into an inverted U and insert it into the center of each solid dosage bottle with 99.99% accuracy. Up to nine pieces from two to nine inches in length may be inserted into each bottle in sizes up to nine inches tall. Three different cottoner models offer a wide range of speeds and footprints to match filling line requirements.

The Pharmafill cotton inserters featuring the pinch roller assembly are designed and manufactured at the company's New Jersey headquarters. Testing is offered on a dedicated training and testing line at the New Jersey facility.
