Antares Vision Group—a technological partner in the digitalization of products and supply chains for companies and institutions, and an expert in traceability and inspection for quality control—will offer live demonstrations of a high-speed system providing 100% inspection and leak detection for prefilled syringes at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2025, September 29-October 1 in Las Vegas.

Also at its Booth N-5844, Antares Vision Group will demonstrate a new automatic, dual-function plunger rod placement and labeling system for prefilled syringes, as well as debut its next-generation unified interface for its broad portfolio of inspection systems. The company’s traceability management solutions for the ever-growing number of drugs requiring cold chain handling also will be highlighted.

High-speed Visual Inspection & Leak Detection for Prefilled Syringes

At PACK EXPO Las Vegas, Antares Vision Group will introduce its latest in a family of high-speed, 100% visual rotating inspection and leak detection systems. For the rapidly growing prefilled syringe landscape, the company’s VRI VI-060S machine utilizes advanced high voltage technology to achieve unsurpassed quality control standards. The unit’s main carousel provides single-point product handling for constraint-free optical setup and exemplary upper area detection, while a secondary carousel ensures the remainder of a prefilled syringe’s complex surface is intricately examined for container damage, foreign particles and leaks.

Antares Vision Group’s VRI VI-060S system can inspect up to 400 glass or plastic prefilled syringes per minute, and can handle syringes up to 24 mm in diameter. In addition to detecting a wide array of internal particles – from reflecting to nonreflecting, and from light floating fibers to heavy particles – the module also inspects prefilled syringes for fill level accuracy and potential cosmetic defects for various components (flange, needle shield, plunger, etc.).

A split-infeed screw setup provides smooth and reliable operation, preventing undesired stops and restarts. Guideless conveying, based on vacuum operated star wheels, minimizes container breakage risks, and full changeover can be performed in just 30 minutes. Optional add-on features include code verification, optical character recognition (OCR)-optical character verification (OCR-OCV), and serialization incorporation.

Automatic Labeling System for Prefilled Syringes, with Plunger Rod Insertion

Specifically suited for prefilled syringes, Antares Vision Group’s new ETFS-300 Automatic Labeling System provides valuable multifunctionality: thermal transfer printing and an Antares Vision camera system for complete print control, precision label application and tight-tolerance plunger rod insertion. Following a plunger rod insertion process driven by a mechanical pick and place system, the unit applies syringes with equally exacting accuracy. The ETFS-300’s label dispenser also is equipped with a servomotor for premium precision, and a rejection system flags syringes with missing plunger rods and/or labels. Among other benefits, by combining two critical processes in one compact design, the machine maximizes floorspace productivity in increasingly crowded manufacturing environments.

New Unified Interface for Antares Vision Group Vision Inspection Systems

PACK EXPO Las Vegas also will mark the exhibition debut of INSPECTA, a next-generation unified interface spanning all Antares Vision Group visual inspection solutions. Building upon the company’s decades of expertise delivering specialized vision inspection solutions that integrate seamlessly with primary and secondary packaging machinery, the new INSPECTA platform is a comprehensive, modular software suite uniting all inspection capabilities through a single intuitive interface.

A graduation from setups requiring multiple dedicated software applications, INSPECTA combines various inspection controls into mission-specific applications implemented throughout a production line. This unified approach enables manufacturers to use a single platform to address both simple verification tasks and complex inspection challenges with higher efficiency and flexibility. Supported by a wide range of standard hardware components from vision sensors to line scan, area scan and smart cameras, INSPECTA’s intuitive interface, powerful algorithms and architecture enables complete quality assurance solutions that meet stringent regulatory requirements – all while maximizing operational efficiency.

Barcode-based Cold Chain Management Solution with Real-time Dashboards and Proactive Alerts

Also at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, Antares Vision Group will be highlighting its emerging solutions set for comprehensive cold chain management. Recently, a prominent pharma contract packager requested an elevated solution for managing temperature-sensitive products during internal processing. Products needed to be maintained at specific temperatures or at ambient temperature for a controlled period before returning to refrigerated or frozen environments.

Antares Vision Group’s solution entailed a barcode-based cold chain management solution integrated with real-time dashboards and proactive alert systems. Products are scanned as they move through different temperature zones, such as freezers, refrigerators, or ambient. At each line, status dashboards provide immediate visibility into product conditions, while message boards and automated email alerts notify staff when products approach critical temperature or time limits. The scalable system is designed to eventually incorporate RFID technology, further reducing manual scanning and expanding automation as operations grow.

Antares Vision Group will be at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in the Healthcare Packaging Pavilion at Booth N-5844.
