Butler Automatic, maker of automatic splicing products, announces that its SP1 Series Automatic Film Splicer is suited for medical device packaging applications. The SP1 Automatic Film Splicer increases efficiency in packaging operations by eliminating the packaging line downtime caused by manual film roll changes.

The SP1 Automatic Film Splicer is for medical device packaging operations as it increases production uptime. The company says its customers see a complete return on their investment in just a few months.

With a simple mechanical design and high-quality manufacture, the SP1 promises long-term, trouble-free performance. The device senses the diameter of the expiring roll of film and automatically splices the end of each expiring roll onto the new roll. It is capable of running at speeds of up to 600 ft/min.

The SP1 is designed to save space, with a small footprint, roll-over-roll design, and swing-out shafts for easy front roll loading. The product is also available with a lift and load elevator feature, eliminating the need to load heavy rolls directly into the upper position, as well as the associated safety concerns.
