Second-gen temperature-monitoring label

PakSense launched its next-generation BIOmed XpressPDF temperature-monitoring label.

Hp 20306 Pak Sense
About the size of a sugar packet, BIOmed XpressPDF labels are flat and feature an integrated USB connection point that can be plugged directly into the USB port of a computer. Once connected, the label automatically generates a PDF file containing complete time and temperature history, including graphs and summary data.

New features to this version include an embedded Comma Separated Values (CSV) file tied to the PDF that lists time and temperature in five-minute increments. Readers and proprietary software are not required to download cold chain data.

Time and temperature data listed in the embedded CSV file cannot be changed and the CSV file cannot be separated from the PDF file, however the CSV file may be copied and saved to another location per the user's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Once saved elsewhere, the CSV file may be opened and manipulated using other programs in accordance with company SOPs. Third-party software is not required to generate the CSV file.

BIOmed XpressPDF Labels feature a temperature sensor that is calibrated to NIST standards during manufacturing. The label takes a surface read of the object to which it is attached. Light-emitting diodes on the label will flash to indicate a temperature excursion and prompt the user to download full cold chain data via the USB connection. The flat label form factor enables cold chain monitoring in virtually any packaging configuration; packaging modifications are not required. Temperature accuracy is ±0.5°C throughout the label's entire operating range of -30°C to 60°C. Labels are validated for use in the life sciences industry.
