J&J, Purdue, and Catalent presenters to address BPPF

Three major healthcare stakeholders are among the speakers who will deliver presentations April 8 in Chicago at the Brand-Protection Packaging Forum, which is produced by Packaging World magazine. Global marketing director Akan Oton (shown in photo) of Catalent Pharma Services will share details of an ambitious implementation of a track-and-trace solution based on 2D bar codes that is designed to meet California's e-pedigree requirements.

David Howard, director of product protection and global brand integrity at Johnson & Johnson. "Developing an authentication selection guide" is the topic to be addressed by Howard, who also chairs the International Authentication Assn.

Two executives from Purdue Pharmaceuticals L.P.c will deliver a presentation called "The case for RFID: Is it an authentication solution or a track-and-trace tool?" In this session, Aaron Graham, chief security officer, will address the "Why" of RFID, while his colleague Mike Celentano, associate director of supply chain systems and RFID, will tackle the "How."

In addition to these presentations, other brand owners who will be speaking include representatives from such companies as Intel, HP, Lexmark, and Liz Claiborne.
