FDA Approves First of its Kind Condom to Prevent STIs

The Agency hopes ONE male condoms will encourage use of condoms when diseases are most easily transmitted.

According to the FDA, the risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease during anal sex is “significantly higher” than with vaginal intercourse. A recent People article reported on a new type of condom intended to protect users during anal sex. ONE male condoms, manufactured by Global Protection Corp., gained FDA approval in hopes of encouraging the use of condoms during anal sex. Though already approved for use during vaginal sex, ONE brand condoms will now be labeled for anal intercourse.
