According to a recent SciTechDaily article, researchers at CU Boulder have developed a wearable that turns your body into a biological battery. The low-cost device is stretchy enough to be worn as a ring or bracelet and it converts the body’s internal temperature into electricity via the wearer’s natural heat-employing thermoelectric generators. The device can generate roughly 1 volt of energy per square centimeter of skin. That may not seem like much, but it’s enough to power devices like watches and fitness trackers.
