MIT Grads Make Skin Repair Mist

The kitchen table invention attracted $10 million in funding.

A recent Forbes article discussed an innovative new device invented by MIT alums that could change delivery methods in the skincare industry. The device delivers over-the-counter products such as vitamin C, retinol, collagen, and peptides with a quick mist that penetrates the skin. That may sound unpleasant, but the painless mist replaces needles that can cause pain, bleeding, scarring, or even infection.

The company is called Droplette, and their “contactless droplets” are intended for at-home use. They’re currently in testing with Harvard and MIT dermatologists and plastic surgeons who also serve on the company’s scientific advisory board. The product costs $299, and includes three capsule types: retinol, collagen and peptides, and glycolic acid and salicylic acid.
