A recent Medgadget article discussed the newest device developed for the social distancing era. A Belgian startup called Lopos is releasing a wearable device that helps implement distancing protocol by alerting the wearer when they are too close to another device.
The device is called SafeDistance, and it vibrates and emits a warning sound when two people are too close. It uses ultra wideband technology that accurately measures distances to within 6 inches. SafeDistance has been successfully tested by manufacturing and construction companies, and comes with a $99 price tag with no recurring subscriptions or charges.
