Because cancer drugs can be so destructive on the body, scientists are always looking for unique delivery methods that increase precision and decrease damage. A recent Futurity article reported on the most recent strategy that involves tiny bubbles. Researchers used extracellular vesicles (EVs) to delivery enzyme-producing genes that activate prodrug therapy in breast cancer cells. Because EVs are compatible with the human body, employing them to deliver treatment could minimize the risk of undesired immune responses from other therapies.
