The FDA has been outspoken with their disdain for vaping products that target underage consumers. FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb even offered an ultimatum earlier this month warning vape companies to stop marketing their products to kids or their product will be pulled from shelves. A recent article from The Washington Times discussed an instance where deputies seized illegal THC-infused vape cartridges with cartoon packaging.
The cartridges, which are intended for medical marijuana use, had been smuggled into Kansas from California and confiscated near Wichita. Kansas prohibits the possession and distribution of THC vape products, and it’s illegal for anyone under 18 to buy or possess any type of e-cigarette. The county sheriff is concerned children are being targeted by the colorful packaging that’s decorated with Looney Tunes and Disney cartoon characters.
