Christopher Smith, Assistant Editor for PMMI Media Group: There’s a lot that goes into ready-to-eat meal processing logistics, including storing prepared meals in warehouses, retrieving orders, sorting meals by consumer address, packing meals, and placing packed boxes for transport. But what if there was a way to simulate this process and foresee logistical issues without having to step into the factory?

Well, that’s exactly what Uitgekookt, a Dutch RTE meal producer did with Visual Component’s digital twin technology. The technology allows manufacturers to use dropdown menus embedded in software and an eCatalog of industrial robots, machines, and automation components to plan each detail and phase of a new operation or process.

To find out the concepts the digital twin tech helped Uitgekookt test and the company’s results from the tool, read the full case study at ProFood World.
