Catalent Completes $5.5 Million Philadelphia Expansion

Includes 40% increase in pallet space for both refrigerated and ambient clinical storage, cold chain and clinical label control areas.

Catalent Pharma Solutions, the global provider of advanced delivery technologies and development solutions for drugs, biologics and consumer health products, announced it has completed a $5.5 million expansion program at its 200,000+ sq-ft Philadelphia, PA, site to provide additional clinical packaging and storage capacity.

The facility, which is located near many customers and major transportation hubs, is also one of the largest sites in Catalent’s global clinical supply network. The investment delivers a 40% increase in pallet space for both refrigerated and ambient clinical storage, additional cold chain packaging areas, and a new clinical label control area. The building also features a new campus-wide environmental monitoring and building management system.

“The expansion not only allows us to meet the demand for additional capacity to serve large-scale clinical studies today, but also provides the space necessary for future growth,” says Albert Quintero, General Manager, Clinical Supply Services.

With sites in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan and China, and an extended network of 50+ depots, Catalent’s clinical supply services team can handle international compliance and distribution requirements, helping to expedite clinical trials by ensuring customers are reliably supplied where and when needed around the globe.
