The Optys bottle has again been recognized for its outstanding innovation and design by winning an award in the "Labelling & Decoration" category at the 2018 WorldStar Competition. The competition is a major international event carried out by the preeminent World Packaging Organisation. The bottle has also been shortlisted for a special award in the "Sustainability" category. The Optys earned a place in the competition by previously winning an award at the "PackTheFuture" national competition in the "ECODESIGN" category.

The competition was judged by an expert panel consisting of representatives from 16 packaging associations and members of the World Packaging Organisation. The panel convened in Rio de Janeiro and judged 318 packaging projects from 38 countries. Current entries were compared to past packaging winners in order to determine which packaging is superior in its category and market, and better in its class in execution or innovation.

The Optys bottle was developed by Coveris Rigid France and Serac, a leading manufacturer of packaging machines. Features that make the Optys bottle award-winning packaging include decoration from the bottom to the top of the neck, 100% on-site manufacturing without label or sleeve, the best packaging to volume weight ratio on the market, and the ability to produce various colors on the inside and outside.

With this award, the Optys continues to stand as a clear example of outstanding packaging development and innovation at Coveris.

A formal award ceremony will be hosted by the Australian Institute of Packaging in Queensland, Australia on 2 May, 2018.
