Kautex Machines, Inc. a daughter company of the German machine manufacturer Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH held it’s first US Open House event at their Branchburg, NJ facility on September 12 to mark the opening of the new laboratory which will be used for sampling, trials and training.

The event was attended by more than 24 customers from 14 companies in the USA and Canada, along with 10 of Kautex’s partner peripheral equipment and material suppliers who made presentations on a variety of blow molding related topics such as material grinders, material loading systems, liquid color masterbatch, molds, bottle packing systems and product inspection. Additionally Kautex gave presentations on training using virtual machines and the vision of the future possibilities of extrusion blow molding.

When planning the move to the new 17,000 sq ft facility in 2016, Kautex Machines took the opportunity to establish the new lab facility. The newly installed KCC10S MK3 machine with a 3 layer extrusion system will be used for material trials, product sampling and operator training. The training programs include a mix of virtual machine and real machine operation and will include modules for trouble shooting and process training. The virtual machines currently have simulations for KBS 6 layer CoEx industrial machines and all-electric KBB packaging machines. In the first quarter of 2018 a virtual KCC machine will be added.

Kautex Maschinenbau has invested in two identical KCC10S MK3 machines to be located at the laboratory of it’s main factory in Germany and at the Chinese factory in Shunde. Having identical machines at the 3 locations will enable Kautex customers with global operations to replicate trials across 3 continents.

After the open house event, customers were invited to enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant followed by a networking event the following day.

The next Open House will take place in March 2018 in Germany at the Kautex Maschinenbau headquarter.
