As a Project Manager, he will be responsible for managing both new and ongoing development projects for plastic and metal closures designed and manufactured by Silgan. He will report directly to Clay Howser, Silgan’s Director of Project Management.
This expansion of the project management team is an integral part of Silgan Closures’ ongoing commitment to developing innovative closure concepts for its existing and prospective customer accounts, providing them with the most effective closures for today’s demanding marketplace. Osborn will be based in the company’s headquarters and innovation center in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Osborn is an experienced global program manager with more than 30 years of project engineering experience with custom injection molding companies in the plastics industry. He has extensive, hands-on experience leading major injection molding projects from concept to commercialization for packaging companies and brand owners in the food and beverage market.
Previously, Osborn was Director of Packaging Engineering for the Heartland Food Products Group since 2013. Prior to that, he held increasingly responsible positions at global closure manufacturer CSI from 1992 to 2013, rising to Director, Product Development for North and South America.
Kevin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a second Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Antioch University.
