Today, Emulate3D Inc., a developer of industrial controls testing software, announced a virtual commissioning solution that will enable users to run accurate 3D models of their industrial material handling systems within the Rockwell Software Studio 5000 Logix Emulate application from Rockwell Automation.
Users will now be able to run off-line controls testing faster than real time, slower than real time, or step forward event-by-event, while remaining synchronized with the virtual PLCs in the Studio 5000 Logix Emulate application. This presents a significant advantage to controls engineers in the understanding and debugging of the operation of all parts of the automated system, from PLC registers to the status of individual photo eyes, motors, or bar code scanners in the system model, for example.
Emulate3D Inc.’s president Ian McGregor stated, “The Studio 5000 Logix Emulate application provides us with the means to run our software and theirs from one clock, helping give the user complete control. Stopping one program stops both, which gives users a new and powerful means to debug controls.”
