Macsa ID DIGILase, Powered by Xerox, is based on the unique DataLase Inline Digital Printing solution that provides customers with market leading pack and product customisation opportunities.

The DataLase laser-sensitive pigment is incorporated into an ink or coating, which can be applied to a wide variety of substrates by conventional print techniques. The laser beam then creates high-contrast digital printing of the substrate when applied at the point of packing or filling.

Inline Digital Printing with a laser is reliable, high speed and an inkless solution. It avoids the use of consumables in the packing hall and delivers excellent image quality. The DIGILase solution, developed in the US in conjunction with PARC, A Xerox Company, delivers graphics capability with grey scale imaging with no reduction in speed in widths up to 100mm.

MACSA ID, headquartered in Barcelona and present in more than 70 countries, is a company that provides solutions to its customers’ coding, identification and traceability needs. MACSA ID is currently a leader in laser technology and one of the top two companies in the world specializing in digital printing with this technology.

Jordi Piñot, CEO of Macsa ID said: “We are delighted to partner with Xerox and DataLase and consider it a great honor to have been selected by these two prestigious companies to be part of such a groundbreaking project. This exciting opportunity places Macsa at the forefront of the market for a revolutionary, innovative and beneficial technology.”

DataLase is the leading Inline Digital Printing technology company. Headquartered in the UK, with offices in North America and Japan, DataLase has developed a range of revolutionary laser-reactive pigment solutions for Inline Digital Printing of products and packaging that enhance quality and operational efficiency and maximize brand owner and retailer real-time marketing effectiveness.

Dr. Chris Wyres, CEO of DataLase, said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Macsa. The combination of our technologies brings true real-time marketing capability to brands and will change the way they print packaging and interact with consumers.”

Inline Digital Printing truly enables late stage differentiation of packs and products to drive marketing effectiveness through 1-to-1 consumer interaction, personalization and integrated promotion marketing e.g. graphics, logos, names, QR codes or barcodes.

It can be used on a wide variety of substrates and applications with folding cartons, case coding and labelling in monochrome colors all being demonstrated at Drupa in 2016 on the DataLase Stand A19, Hall 6.

The result being brands achieve greater responsiveness and speed to market delivering engaging personalized communication with consumers. Moreover a significant increase in productivity, process optimization and cost reduction through SKU minimization can be achieved.

Macsa ID DIGILase Powered by Xerox, will be demonstrated on the DataLase stand at Drupa on Stand A19, Hall 6.
