Schubert Packaging Systems and Schubert Packaging Automation are moving to new headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina in an effort to further improve their service to customers in the United States and Canada. At the same time, the company is changing its name to Schubert North America. With the current offices in Dallas and Toronto remaining in place, Schubert is strengthening its commitment to North America, which has developed into the largest market segment for the group.
As of October 1, 2015, Schubert’s activities in the United States and Canada will be coordinated from the Group's new North American headquarters. Schubert Packaging Systems (SPS) in Dallas, Texas and Schubert Packaging Automation (SPA) in Toronto, Canada will be kept as service hubs and, in the case of SPA, also as a sales office for Canada. While most of Schubert’s customers will benefit from the improved proximity to the new headquarters in the eastern US, technicians will also be present in Texas and Toronto to ensure the best possible service for the complete North American market. The new location enables a better connection to both Germany and Canada and benefits from a well-established infrastructure. Office space for approx. 30 employees, a large warehouse for spare parts, a machine room and a training facility will be operational beginning October 2015.
The training facility will be relocated from Dallas, Texas and expanded by a second training machine. The new training center is a key component of Schubert’s service in the US, and from now on it will only be a few hours’ drive for many customers. Charlotte is also the perfect location to complement sales, service and training with the production of components and assembly operation in the future.
The infrastructure is also ideal to find highly qualified personnel. Schubert is currently developing its team for North America to address a broader range of customer requirements and to acquire new customers. Today, with an annual revenue of approx. 50 million US dollars, North America represents the largest market segment for the Schubert Group. Schubert plans to double its current sales revenue to 100 million US dollars for the North American market within the next five years.
Fritz Kipfer, currently Managing Director of Schubert Canada, will head up Schubert North America. Johannes Schubert, Gerald Schubert’s son and grandchild of the company’s founder Gerhard Schubert, will support Fritz Kipfer. In addition, members from all Schubert’s subsidiaries will be on site, including Schubert-Pharma and Schubert’s engineering unit IPS.
