The prime mission of the CFA is actively to participate in the development of the aerosols market, whence the organisation and facilitation of working groups on themes where companies and national authorities are taking initiatives:
• Varnish : providing « materials monitoring », particularly in terms of protective varnishes ; coordinating research to replace Poly-Amide-Imide varnish and dealing with the threat to BPA;
• Plastics : by working towards an evolution in European regulations, quickly to provide for the safe introduction of plastic aerosols;
• Safety : in close contact with the ministry and as instigator of the texts of the future ICPE headings on aerosols;
• Statistics : the CFA summarises a survey among members and non-members to assess the aerosols market in France each year.
On a European level, the skills of CFA experts are greatly appreciated by the FEA working groups, particularly the ones on the adaptation of the Aerosol directive, VOCs, greenhouse gases, REACH, inhalation, recycling, aerosol transport by postal services and industrial safety.
