Microscan to present webinar on simplified machine vision for electronics

RENTON, WA, September 2012 -- Microscan, a global technology leader in barcode, machine vision and lighting solutions, announces that it will host an educational webinar titled "Beyond Barcodes: Simplified Machine Vision for Electronics," presented by members of the company's industry-focused electronics solutions team.

The presentation and live question and answer session are free to attend, and will take place online during two live broadcasts: September 12 at 10 am PDT (Seattle) / 1 pm EDT (Boston) and September 13 at 16:00 CEST (Amsterdam) / 10 am EDT (Boston).

Electronics manufacturers today are looking to do more with less. To meet multiple requirements for part tracking, quality inspection, and process efficiency, these companies need to implement technologies that solve more than auto ID applications alone. During this webinar, Microscan's electronics team will define “auto ID+” technology and explain how simplified machine vision solutions like smart cameras add capabilities that go beyond barcode reading in electronics manufacturing. A case study of a global automotive electronics supplier will illustrate the power of combining barcode reading and inspection into a single, cost-effective solution. In addition, live question and answer sessions with Microscan's electronics team will provide specific examples of machine vision's application to real automation projects in electronics manufacturing.

The live webinar will be presented by Matt Van Bogart (Global Market Manager, Electronics) and Steven Moser (Applications Engineer, Electronics), members of Microscan's electronics solutions team. This team supports Microscan's global electronics customers by developing solutions to meet unique needs for data tracking and inspection and offering support internally and in the field.
