The exhibitor registration deadline is October 1, 2012. The event will be held from January 29 - February 1, 2013 at the Expocentre in Moscow. The region's leading trade fair for the industry will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf and its Russian subsidiary OOO Messe Düsseldorf Moscow in cooperation with the Italian event coordinator Centrexpo. Messe Düsseldorf is renowned as the organizer of interpack, the No. 1 international trade fair for the packaging industry held every three years in Germany.
As the most important exhibition for the industry in Russia and the neighboring GUS countries, UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2013 will provide an overview of the complete value creation chain: from packaging manufacturing and printing to packaging, converting and finishing. The focus next year will be on process technology, with emphasis on integrated concepts opposed to individual solutions. Of special interest will be processing machinery for the food, beverage and pharmacy industry.
With the per capita consumption of food in Russia continuing to increase by an average of 11% annually until 2015, UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA 2013 will focus on food with the “Future Forum 2013 - Trends for the Russian Market” consisting of a product show, discussion roundtables and the special exhibition by the SAVE FOOD initiative. This initiative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation and Messe Düsseldorf will be presented at UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA for the first time. The purpose of SAVE FOOD is to minimize the global food loss by bringing commerce, politics and research together in order to develop solutions across the entire value chain.
interplastica 2013, 16th International Trade Fair Plastics and Rubber, will again be held concurrently with UPAKOVKA/UPAK ITALIA. The two events perfectly complement each other in terms of the exhibited products and their target visitor group. Over 800 exhibitors from 20 countries are expected for the 2013 staging and the two events will occupy a net exhibition space of more than 172,200 square feet. About 20,000 visitors from Russia and CIS countries came to the previous staging in 2012.
The Russian economy continues to grow. In 2011, the gross domestic product rose by 4%, consumer spending by 5% and investment in production sites and equipment by 6%. Even with the dynamic somewhat weakening this year, the signs continue to be positive and the medium-term prospects for many industries are very promising. The plastics and packaging sectors in particular benefit from this favorable development and experts predict continued good potential for both industries. With processed and packaged foods/beverages and convenience products becoming increasingly popular, capacities in the packaging sector are being expanded and plants modernized nationwide.
