Marken Appoints Frank J. Wright as Interim Head of Clinical Trials Distribution Business

Marken, a leading global provider of clinical supply chain services, has appointed Frank J. Wright as the Interim President of the Clinical Trials Distribution Business Unit.

In this new role, Mr. Wright will continue to build and strengthen Marken's distribution capability for drug product and kits from clients to depots and investigator sites around the world. Marken currently serves 6,000 investigator sites in over 100 countries. With this broad platform already in place, Marken has undertaken to manage its own depot facilities in all regions of the world, thus providing the critical linkage necessary to offer complete round trip services to all clients. Mr. Wright will be responsible for growing the business, enhancing the team and identifying possible investment opportunities. He will also assist in recruiting the permanent President of the business unit.

Mr. Wright comes to Marken with over 40 years experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical and healthcare industries. He has worked as an executive with companies such as ICI, Glaxo (GSK), ChiRex and maintains several advisory positions. More recently Mr. Wright was Chief Operating Officer of Aptuit, a service provider to the pharmaceutical industry, which he co-founded in 2004. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a diploma in Strategic Supply Chain Management.

"Frank is a very professional and proven leader in our industry," said Wes Wheeler, Marken's Chief Executive Officer. "He has extensive experience in building businesses, both organically and through acquisitions. He has extensive contacts and a deep understanding of the logistics and supply chain aspect of our industry. I look forward to working closely with Frank as we continue to build our clinical trials distribution business."
