Alcoa Named One of Brazil¹s Most Sustainable Companies

Alcoa in Brazil was ranked as the most sustainable company in the Metals sector and 11th overall of 100 companies considered in a study by major business media in Brazil.

The list will be published in the August issue of the Brazilian national news magazine Imprensa.

The annual “Most Sustainable Companies According to the Media” survey is based on an analysis of companies' communication about sustainability published in eight major Brazilian media outlets during 2010.

In the evaluation, subjects such as transparency, environmental awareness, employee welfare, and community relationships were considered.

“It is a great source of pride to gain recognition for our sustainability initiatives from respected organizations and bodies such as the national business media,” said Frank Feder, Alcoa Vice President and President Alcoa Latin America and Caribbean.
