Alcoa Names Dina Shapiro Director, Marketing Communications and Branding

Alcoa has named Dina Shapiro Director, Marketing Communications and Branding, responsible for driving an integrated marketing strategy across the Company's businesses and enhancing Alcoa's iconic brand around the world.

“Dina will help translate Alcoa's global reach, innovation expertise and sustainability leadership into marketing programs that grow sales and strengthen our brand across Alcoa's many markets,” said Nick Ashooh, Alcoa's Global Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

“As Alcoa celebrates 125 years of modern aluminum production, the prospects for our 'miracle metal' have never been brighter,” Ashooh said. “Dina will play a central role in building awareness of how light, strong and recyclable aluminum can deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to our customers.”

Ms. Shapiro brings to Alcoa a blend of deep experience on both the corporate and agency sides of marketing communications. She has 18 years of marketing experience at top agencies including JWT, BBDO, McCann-Erickson and Y&R, working on leading brands such as MasterCard, Kleenex, Campbell's Soup, Lever2000, Excedrin, Lubriderm and Hellmann's.

In her most recent role as Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy at Citibank, Ms. Shapiro was responsible for strategic positioning, driving marketing best practices, and ensuring brand consistency across communications.

Ms. Shapiro holds an MBA from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in economics from George Washington University.
