Bauer earned a bachelor's degree with concentrations in finance and marketing from Syracuse University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a member of the American Marketing Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Commonwealth Ventures, LLC and RCA Illinois, LLC.
