Air0Pack® is an innovative technology for filling liquids, powders, gases and products of average-tohigh viscosity (such as gels, creams or foam) into (recyclable) plastic packaging (PET). Air0Pack® is characterised by a patented pressure control device, providing a continuous dispensing flow rate from the beginning to the end, leaving for instance a minimal amount of residual content in the packaging. Air0Pack® is further distinguished by the fact that this pressurized packaging system is not operated by harmful conventional hydrocarbon chemical propellants, but by ordinary harmless compressed air.
As well as these technical product features, Air0Pack® offers extra advantages in terms of safety, environmental friendliness, design, production and logistics.
This makes Air0Pack® a valuable, sustainable, safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly alternative, not only for conventional spray cans in metal or aluminium - which work with harmful chemical propellants and which can, for instance, never be entirely emptied by the spray, because of the decreasing dispensing flow rate as the product is used up - but also for mechanical dispensers (hand pumps, pressure pumps or trigger sprays).
Air0Pack® can also be used in a range of sectors (for instance Personal and Beauty Care, household products, adhesives, the food industry, the medical and pharmaceutical sector) and offers significant potential for a whole new generation of effective pressurized packaging systems.
The joint venture between Resilux and I.P.S. came about because I.P.S. was looking for a suitable production partner with relevant experience in the plastic packaging industry (particularly with PET). It had to have extensive logistical and production facilities in Europe and North America and have developed relevant expertise in the field of PET injection moulding, PET blow moulding, PET injection blow moulding and blowing PET preforms.
Within the framework of this partnership, the joint venture company Air0-Lux AG was incorporated on 4 June 2010, with its registered office in Bilten (Switzerland). The stated objective of Air0-Lux AG is to produce and assemble Air0Pack® packaging products with a view to their worldwide marketing and sale, as well as to continue developing Air0Pack®. Air0-Lux AG will initially be using the existing Resilux production facilities to achieve this and, with this in mind, everything has been prepared at the Resilux production site in Bilten for the first Air0Pack® mass production run. The first Air0Pack® deliveries are scheduled for September 2010.
The two listed companies Resilux NV (Euronext Brussels) and I.P.S. Innovative Packaging Solutions AG (Six Swiss Exchange) - formerly COS Computer Systems AG - headed by Mr Quint Kelders, each exercise 50% of the ultimate control over Air0-Lux AG.
