Alcan Global Pharmaceutical Packaging plant in Chakan presents the first Alcan Packaging University international seminar in India*

Alcan Packaging - a business unit of Rio Tinto Alcan - will conduct its first Indian Alcan Packaging University (APU) seminar at the Fariyas Resort, Lonavala on 8 and 9 October.

APU has already been rolled out in various European and North American countries. The
APU seminar is designed to support brand name and generic pharmaceutical product
manufacturers of the new Alcan Packaging Chakan facility, inaugurated in October 2008.
To address the needs and challenges of both global and local Indian pharmaceutical
companies, the seminar will present new product and process innovations, explore recentindustry trends, and feature external guest speakers. Mr. Tapan Ray, Director General ofthe Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India, will be the keynote speaker. Acomprehensive tour of the Chakan facility, located 40km north of Pune, is also planned.
