MSU Offers Online Supply Chain Management Certificates

Integrated educational model’s curriculum coordinates multiple facets of the supply chain with eight Master/Advanced Master certificates.

Attracting professionals to careers in supply chain and logistics to fill job openings continues to prove challenging, as recently reported here.

Financial appeal is one of the approaches being used to generate interest in the supply chain/logistics market. That tack is employed by Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business Executive Development Programs for eight new Supply Chain Management programs.

Citing a Feb. 2017 Logistics Management Annual Salary Survey, MSU lists numbers ranging from $68,220 for a Traffic Manager up to $178,770 for a Vice President/General Manager, noting, “Prospective students are encouraged to conduct independent research as career opportunities and salary potential may vary depending on location, experience and education.”

MSU, who’s School of Packaging has produced numerous packaging professionals, says, “These programs provide you with tools and techniques from experienced supply chain faculty to explore global trends and contemporary issues affecting, and affected by, supply chain management.”

Much like supply chain and logistics functions, attracting students into the packaging field is also a concern. A recent MSU article, for example, notes, “The MSU School of Packaging is the leading packaging school in the country and has its sights set on tomorrow. The school is looking to attract the next generation of bright scholars and equip them with the resources they need to pursue big ideas. Now, the School of Packaging is working to endow a chair and a professorship to attract established researchers who are rooted in allied programs across the country.”
