A&R Logistics to Grow Fleet More Than 10% in 2018

New tractor order includes Peterbilt and Freightliner tractors. Company also expands transportation and packaging facilities.

A&R Logistics announced that it has ordered 75 new tractors for delivery in early 2018, including Peterbilt 567's and Freightliner Cascadia's.

Mark R. Holden, A&R’s CEO says, “We are excited to be in a position to profitably grow the company on a sustainable basis. We have spent the past four years building a foundation upon which to grow, focused on safety and service. While the changes have not been easy, it has been a team effort. Our future depends on retaining and recruiting the best drivers in the industry. Our new tractors will provide our drivers with the safest and most comfortable tractors on the market.”

Holden adds, “During 2017, we implemented a comprehensive overhaul of our driver benefits. We increased driver wages by over $2 million, enhanced our vacation policy to provide drivers more home time, overhauled and refurbished over 30 tractors with the latest engine and cab specifications and invested in new technology to be a safer company. In addition, we added over 60 new pneumatic tank trailers to the trailer fleet. We also expanded A/R's footprint by establishing transportation and packaging facilities in the Port of Savannah, GA and Port Freeport, TX to offer immediate solutions to the shipper community for the export of plastic resin.  We continue to focus on ‘Doing It Right.’"
