Serialization technology proven in 250 installations comes to U.S. market

Pharma technology and automation consulting firm Xyntek gains exclusive U.S. rights to market leading global serialization technology from Antares Vision.

Xyntek's partnership with Antares Vision comes just in time to satisfy e-pedigree demand.

Xyntek Inc., Yardley, PA-based leader in pharmaceutical supply chain serialization and e-pedigree compliance, announced on August 20 a joint, mutually exclusive strategic partnership to represent Brescia, Italy-based Antares Vision S.r.I., in the U.S. market. The agreement brings Antares Vision's proven technology to pharmaceutical supply chain partners seeking to meet requirements for e-pedigree, track & trace, serialization, brand security & protection, anti-counterfeiting and anti-drug diversion solutions.

The partnership provides the core technology Xyntex sought to elevate its solution set from the realm of consulting and turnkey project management to one where the company directly handles installations. Xyntek already provides technology consulting and turnkey, integrated information systems and automation solutions to leading global life sciences companies. Now the company leverages the Antares Vision solution set to offer a broader solution set. This includes a suite of professional engineering consulting, and serialization technology solutions and services for serialization, track & trace, and e-pedigree compliance -- from the factory floor and packaging lines through the entire enterprise and supply chain.

“Antares Vision has applied its technology to the largest number of installed and operational serialization and aggregation production lines and packages with track and trace applied on a worldwide basis,” Mac Hashemian, P.E., President and CEO at Xyntek Inc., said.

"Our partnership with Xyntek is a strategic and fundamental step to improve our competitiveness in relation to major international players in a highly technological environment,” added Emidio Zorzella, CEO of Antares Vision.

Antares Vision has gained a leadership position across Europe and in particular in Turkey, the first country in the world to enforce the traceability regulations including serialization of packages to the individual, salable unit level. The comapny was reportedly the first to develop and install a standalone unit for printing and checking Datamatrix and serialization data on cartons, integrating into one, compact machine the ability to perform both printing and verification operations. Since 2007, more than 250 units have been installed in various configurations that include inkjet printing, inspection, weighting, labeling and rejection options. Systems include blister filling controls, OCR/OCV readers and verifiers and complete capsule, tablet and vials inspection machines. These comply with GAMP5 and 21CFR part 11 directives of the FDA.
