Child-resistant packaging failure prompts Walgreens' vitamin recall

They were sold at Walgreens drug stores nationwide from January 2015 through March 2015

Walgreens' Multivitamin Women 50+ tablets are being recalled because the packaging is not child-resistant and senior friendly as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.

The multivitamin supplement tablets inside the bottle contain iron, which can cause serious injury or death to young children if multiple tablets are ingested at once, according to a government recall notice.

They were sold at Walgreens drug stores nationwide from January 2015 through March 2015 for about $16, and are manufactured by International Vitamin Corporation (IVC), of Freehold, NJ.
