Can Warehouse Automation Alleviate Your Labor Shortage?

That’s a question posed in a recent blog by Numina Group that says worker productivity can be increased by streamlining and automating pick, pack and ship operations.

Here’s the picture painted by The Numina Group in a recent blog:

Manufacturing and warehouse distribution firms are challenged to find reliable workers given a tight labor pool and baby boomer retirements. On top of that, the U.S. job market recently hit a 10-year low.

Given those factors, the blog says, “Winning businesses are quickly adapting to the changing labor market by investing in leaner, less labor-intensive processes that eliminate wasted touches, and at the same time increase order fulfillment accuracy. Implementing the right automation, such as pick by voice in combination with pack and ship automation technologies, is a proven strategy to boost productivity 30% to 50% or more in manufacturing and distribution operations.”

Numina Group provides services for automated distribution operations.
