Jacob began her career in the 1950s at her grandfather’s company, M. Jacob & Sons (now MJS Packaging), and led efforts into the emerging plastics packaging market.  A pioneer in the packaging industry, Elaine became the first female NACD president in 1977, and quickly brought more structure to the organization.
