Marchesini Group has created a machine that fills and seals open ampules and with reliability. The RSF3L works at a rate of 9,000 ampules/hr (150/min), and offers construction features to satisfy pharmaceutical market demands—in particular liquid products in a sterile environment.
Delivers excellent repeatability of the ampule filling and sealing operations, simple and quick size changeovers, and easily connects to a sterilization tunnel installed upstream, making the RSF3L an ideal machine for aseptic packaging.
The structure of the machine facilitates a clean operation—no glass fragments enter the ampule pathway because, if there are any, they drop into the receptacle installed in the base of the machine.
The filling unit is easy to dismantle and sterilize. The ampules are automatically loaded directly from the boxes or open-sided baskets onto the conveyor where they are held firmly in position by a support before they are subsequently transferred by a continuous-motion scroll to a variable-speed starwheel and then to the rake conveyor.
Ampule presence on the rake conveyor is controlled electronically on the neck: only intact ampules are filled.
Among the optional systems available with the machine are those for dispensing inert gas before, during, and after the filling phase and for Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) and Sterilization-In-Place (SIP) of the entire dispensing system.
