When it comes to cancer, early detection can mean the difference between life and death. A recent Yahoo! Finance article discussed Google’s promising new artificial intelligence that can apparently spot lung cancer a year before a doctor. The new technology was revealed at its developer conference in Mountain View, California. Its “deep learning” mode can find small lung lesions on a CT scan, which five out of 6 radiologists missed for a year. That year could translate into a 40% increase in survival rate.
