Precision Medicine's Optimistic Future

Advocate says there is a commitment to transform the way research is done.

Writing for Forbes.com, Kathy Giusti, Founder of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, outlined five reasons the future for precision medicine looks optimistic.

This included, among other things, patients being willing to sign up for research purposes, scientific leadership that is bringing attention to the subject, and the fact that it stretches across political, social and economic lines.

Giusti recently attended a summit held at the White House on Obama's Precision Medicine Initiative.

"As I stood shoulder to shoulder with others who have made precision medicine a top priority and are leading the way, I was struck by our collective commitment to transform the way research is done, prevention is practiced, treatments are developed and cures are found," she wrote.
