Hugo Beck, a world leading specialist in horizontal film, flowpack and paper packaging machines as well as automation solutions, is exhibiting at this year’s PACK EXPO International in Chicago, Illinois. Packaging solutions that combine efficiency, sustainability, and product protection across a wide range of industries such as pharmaceutical and e-commerce will be a major focus of Hugo Beck’s presence at the show.

Visitors to booth LU-8922 in the Lake Side Upper Hall will be able to talk to the Hugo Beck team about its wide range of packaging machinery for flowpacks, bags and shrink packs in film and paper across both primary and secondary packaging.

Equipped with the latest drive and control technology, mostly from Siemens or Rockwell Automation, Hugo Beck machines fit packaging applications all over the world. And with sustainability now a global issue across all industries, Pack Expo attendees will see firsthand how Hugo Beck’s packaging solutions can help meet their environmental objectives. Whether maximizing production efficiencies and replacing plastic films with paper or minimizing packaging materials used, the team will be on hand to highlight savings which can be effectively achieved in the production of film and paper bags and shrink packs.

Hugo Beck’s attendance at Pack Expo, Chicago, comes after its recent partnership with SAVVY Print Solutions to drive sustainable packaging growth in North America. Expanding the SAVVY portfolio to include Hugo Beck’s paper packaging machines, the flowpack X, in particular, has made an impression on the U.S market, as a horizontal flow wrapper than runs paper, to reduce customers’ usage of films. Suitable for heat and cold-sealable paper-based packaging materials, the flowpack X achieves optimal processing of the most diverse materials including barrier paper, kraft paper, offset paper, parchment paper and other papers with PE, PLA or dispersion coatings.

And whilst utilised across a wide range of industries, Hugo Beck’s customized film packaging and automation solutions have seen considerable popularity in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors. The combination of air-tight, high barrier packaging and flexibility for different product sizes and bundles, makes Hugo Beck’s flowpack machines ideal for applications in this area, alongside its design to conform to the highest documentation and safety standards.

In addition, with the boom of e-commerce and mail order, visitors to the Hugo Beck booth can learn about that the latest film and paper packaging machines developed to meet industry demand. The paper e-com fit packaging machine, for example, has seen significant recognition amongst Hugo Beck customers, specifically for its flexibility. Automatically adjusting the shipping bag size to varying product dimensions to minimize material use, the paper e-com fit can process both uncoated and coated recyclable papers to produce a new type of dispatch packaging, with two sewn sides.

“We are delighted to be attending Pack Expo 2022 and to welcome visitors to booth LU-8922,” said Timo Kollmann, Managing Director at Hugo Beck. “This year’s show allows us to demonstrate our increasingly diverse machine offering, which can meet the cross-industry need for increased sustainability and flexibility – whilst still delivering efficiency and protection required for first-class packaging.”
