A recent FiercePharma article discussed the latest drug recall from Pfizer. The company is voluntarily recalling five lots of quinapril HCl, aka Accupril, tablets distributed to the patient level after identifying nitrosamines above the acceptable daily intake level. Though exposure to nitrosamines is common, prolonged contact with higher levels of the impurities can increase the risk of cancer. Though no adverse reports have surfaced, the company recalled 5 lots of 10, 20 and 40mg tablets distributed in the U.S. and Puerto Rico between December 2019 and April 2022.
