FDA: Three sexual enhancement pills tainted

The undeclared ingredient is known to interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs.

Three separate over-the-counter products promoted, and sold, for sexual enhancement were found to have hidden ingredients, prompting the FDA to issue warnings about their usage.

FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Triple Zhansheng Weige Chaoyue Xilishi, Triple PowerZEN Gold, and Samurai-X, all contain sildenafil, the active ingredient in the FDA-approved prescription drug Viagra, used to treat erectile dysfunction, according to the agency.

This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.
