Steriline, a company highly specialized in the production of complete lines for the aseptic packaging of injectables and ophthalmic products for global pharmaceutical companies, announces that it has completed the process of “passing on the torch” from the founder, the engineer Gerardo Fumagalli, to his children, Ilaria Fumagalli and Federico Fumagalli, who now take on the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Sales Officer respectively.
Gerardo Fumagalli, who founded Steriline in 1989, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He will continue to make his valuable contribution to a company that now has 235 employees and that, in over 35 years of activity, has established itself in the market of aseptic medicine packaging thanks to the experience, intuition and entrepreneurial spirit of the founder.
Over the past 10 years, Steriline has undergone major transformations: a considerable expansion, the opening of branches abroad, organisational and operational changes. All these operations were completed jointly by Gerardo Fumagalli and his children, who are now taking the reins of the company.
Ilaria Fumagalli joined Steriline in 1997, after graduating with a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies from the University of Milan. She has held increasingly senior roles in the company, up to the position of Operations Director. Her new role is now Chief Executive Officer. “I would like to thank the Board for the confidence it has placed in me and all the people who have supported me in this challenging journey” she says. “I was a young woman when I joined the company and, in small steps, I gained skills and increasing responsibilities thanks to the example set by my father, who always proceeded with confidence and made courageous decisions as an entrepreneur. My goal now is to keep the flame burning, to maintain a dynamic company and make the changes that will spark new project launches tuned to the future, creating synergies that will lead to an innovative variation in our traditional values, with the help of modern governance bodies.”
Federico Fumagalli, who joined the company in 2001, specialized in sales, marketing, market knowledge and the study of innovative projects to meet customer needs, progressing until he became the Commercial Director. “My goal will be to expand the presence of Steriline on the market, focusing our commitment and investments in internationalization, research, development and innovation, while remaining tied to the tradition and values of the family business,” says the new Chief Sales Officer.
In the near future, to support growth, governance will be further expanded, with a particular focus on two strategic areas, i.e. product engineering and customer service. The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Chief Service Officer (CSeO) will be included in the management team in order to expand and innovate the developed technologies, focusing on excellence as the ultimate achievement. The task of the newly appointed CSeO will be developing the After Sales area and providing the best support to customers.
