Tekni-Plex, a producer of flexible packaging for the medical device and pharmaceutical markets, will be showing its line of high-performance coated Tyvek and coated paper rollstock and lidding material, as well as adhesive and extrusion laminations at MD&M West, February 11-13, Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California, Booth 3019.

“With more stringent packaging regulations impacting performance being enacted globally, selecting the right material has become even more critical. To address those requirements, we offer a wide variety of structures that can handle the rigors of sterilization and distribution, as well as provide a wide operating window to ensure sealability and clean peels for demanding applications,” says Jennifer Eiker, product manager, Tekni-Plex Flexibles.

Tekni-Plex’s coating expertise delivers materials designed to have optimal breathability for fast EtO sterilization cycles, versatility (seals to a wide variety of flexible and rigid films), clean peel, and robust barrier.

Additionally, coated Tyvek options are meant to offer tear strength and puncture resistance. Created to be up to eight times stronger than medical-grade papers, the material is made for demanding Class II and Class III medical device applications.

High-performance coated paper structures offer a cost-effective option, which is beneficial for high-volume applications, says the company.

Tekni-Plex also manufactures custom extrusion or adhesive laminations to suit a specific packaging application. Material options include PET, nylon, paper, foil, PE and ionomer. Sealing options include (high, low, weld-seal, etc.). The commpany also manufactures a variety of pouch stock laminations, that can be converted.  Materials can seal to paper, Tyvek, or to another laminate structure, depending on the application’s requirements.
