TurboFil Packaging Machines has substantially expanded the product development and demonstration space at its Mount Vernon, N.Y., headquarters. The additional space was necessary to accommodate the company’s double-digit year-over-year business growth, driven primarily by heightened demand for TurboFil pharma syringe filling and capping solutions.
The expansion provides TurboFil with approximately 50% more square footage—space the company needs to design the type of complex, often customized, solutions it provides pharma customers in the U.S. and beyond.
“The previous few years have seen the sort of consistent growth that requires an expanded physical footprint, particularly for the design, development, validation, and demonstration teams,” says Deborah Smook, VP of marketing & business development for TurboFil Packaging Machines. “Needing more room to address rapid growth is perhaps the best ‘problem’ to have, and we’re excited for the expansion and the additional opportunities it will help accommodate.”
The company’s syringe filling and capping machinery have been key to its sales surge. Recent TurboFil solutions in these niches include:
- The TurboFil Acrobat chuck capper, a servo-driven unit offering precision torque and gentle handling without costly bottle change parts—at speeds up to 90 units per min—for manufacturers producing multiple SKUs
- The TurboFil SimpliFil syringe filling & assembly system, which employs a versatile setup that fills syringes via a ceramic piston, a peristaltic pump, or direct draw from a reservoir bag
- The TurboFil benchtop TipFil™ syringe draw filler, which offers full control of filling parameters in single or dual operation, providing consistent fills at rates up to 12 pieces per min
