Markem's SmartDate 5 thermal-transfer coders are now enhanced with a patented feature designed to eliminate missed codes. Missed or incomplete codes are possible during the continuous motion of the thermal-transfer printing process if the packaging film stops halfway through the print. The enhanced coders automatically detect the packaging film slowing and complete the print even if the film stops halfway through the code. Coders are widely used with vf/f/s and hf/f/s machines, flow wrappers, label applicators, and cartoners.
