Optel Medevon, newest business unit of Optel Group and provider of automated inspection solutions for the medical device industry, announced its official launch today. The new operation provides medical device manufacturers and medical device packaging suppliers with automated inspection solutions to help them comply with emerging Unique Device Identification (UDI) regulations that are being implemented throughout the world. The company develops products that are customizable, cost-effective and future-proof, making them adaptable to meet the regulatory requirements of medical device identification.

As a partner dedicated exclusively to the medical device segment, the business unit will provide its customers with a focus on specific challenges in medical device inspection, while utilizing Optel Vision’s 25-plus years of project management, custom design and integration of complex systems.

With regulatory deadlines looming, medical device companies must integrate solutions efficiency to remain compliant. Optel Group has appointed Alain Chandonnet, PhD as the President of Optel Medevon to spearhead the initiative, citing his experience as both a technology entrepreneur and a scientist with knowledge of medical device and optics.

Louis Roy, President of parent company Optel Group, noted that branching into the medical device industry was a natural step for the company, and that the "human aspect of this segment is also an ideal fit for our organization and overall corporate mission, which is to use our technologies to improve the human condition and ultimately help create a better world."
