Sealed Air has begun providing sustainable box liners to national meal kit delivery service Sun Basket, which was looking for new insulation materials for its shipping boxes that would help it retain its commitment to 100 percent recyclable packaging. The company opted for the Sealed Air TempGuard curbside recyclable box liner.
Made from recycled paper tested to ISTA 20 certification standards, the insulated liner ensures perishable products maintain proper temperatures for one- and two-day ground shipping, in addition to cushioning the items during handling and transit.
One-in. thinner than the material Sun Basket had been using, the TempGuard liner has allowed Sun Basket to use a shipping box nearly 25 percent smaller than its previous box, reducing its carbon footprint, while making the recycling process easier for its customers.
