The German glassmaker Schott is planning to expand its pharmaceutical packaging business, investing $1 billion until 2025. According to a recent Glass International article, the company’s investment will work to meet the demand for packaging including vials, syringes, ampoules and cartridges made from Borosilicate glass and polymer. The money will fund projects in multiple countries including the construction of a glass tubing factory in China, and a syringe and container factory in Germany.
