Hi, I'm Brandon Kaufman from MULTIVAC. I'm our vision system specialist for United- for the United States. Here is our i410 using the latest Cognex technology for AI. We used an AI training tool, and you present the Cognex software with several different examples of a product, and the AI determines the texture and shape of the product so it can correctly identify if a product is missing or present in a package. In this case, we're looking at a package containing gummy bears, almonds, and a block of cheese. When we pass this underneath the camera, this is a line scan camera that can be adjusted for any pack length. The vision system correctly identifies that we do have gummy bears, almonds, and cheese present.
In the case that one of those items is missing- The vision system will detect the missing item, and the package will be ejected at the end of the machine. We do have very consistent production data and statistics that allow us to see exactly why that package failed, so that you can track the reasons that your package is failing at the end of the machine. We can put a camera on the bottom and the top to look from the lower portion for the underside of the package, and the top side for the product itself.
The vision system is also capable of doing OCR inspection, verifying human-readable characters for a best by date, product name. We can verify patterns to verify the correct foil is used and the correct labels are on the package as well.
All of that can also be integrated separately from a conveyor belt into a roll stock machine, so the packages are failed right at the end of the roll stock machine. This machine is designed specifically for a tray use, which is why we have a conveyor belt on it as well. We can also add this technology to a labeler with a matrix camera, and the same exact tools can be used in that situation as well.
